Cubs

Cubs is the 2nd youngest section in Scouting and is for 8 to 10.5 year olds.
Cub Scouts focus mostly on teamwork & problem solving skills, working on self control within games & skilled activities.
Once a year we have a 2 night camp along with the Scouts, normally at Stanford’s camp site, Pease Pottage. Almost all of the children will have been there before, are comfortable with the area and know they are safe there.
This weekend away always includes sleeping in tents, lots of food, adventurous activities, learning new skills, a campfire & our own little yummy creation that ALL the kids love – ‘dobbies donuts’ (you’ll need to come on camp to find out what this is!)
A couple of times a year, the Cubs join the Beaver Scouts for a joint evening of activities that usually involves going out & about. This gives the Cubs an opportunity to teach the younger section some new skills they’ve learnt in Cubs, set a good example & represent their section.
