1st Southgate has returned!

Since the Easter school holidays, all three of our sections have now returned to face to face scouting. We have seen nearly everyone again and its been great to see everyone full size, instead of a small box on a screen! We all really hope you have enjoyed the first few activities back, including the Scouts who spent their first evening lighting fires! A huge amount of work has gone into making the return safe and fun, the Leaders have been brilliant. Parents, thank you for all you have done to stick with us during the last 12 months. Let’s hope this is the start of the new normal for us all to enjoy.

Face to face Explorers returns!

Yesterday, Monday 29th March 2021, SRF Explorers finally returned after months of virtual meetings. With the easing of UK lockdown, scouting guidance allows us to meet outside only, in a socially distanced fashion. To mark the occasion SRF had a chilled out campfire where everyone was able to catch up and enjoy being in the company of others! Everyone was excited to be back and we gathered ideas for what the Explorers want to do over the coming months.

Online Scouting

Over the past months, despite everything going on in the world, scouting at 1st Southgate has continued to thrive. Cooking, baking, forensic science, karate and visits from bats and chickens are just some of the activities that our members have taken part in. There has also been lots of badge work and use of activity packs hand delivered by our leaders. The group has even gained new members during this time with our first ever online investitures! (See below)

We all want to say a massive well done to everyone for getting involved, trying to make the best of this situation and a huge thank you to everyone who has made it possible!
