Over the last few weeks our Beavers and Cubs both took part in Christmas sleepovers! They took part in lots of Christmassy activities and had lots of fun! A big thank you to all the leaders for making these events possible.

1st Southgate Winter Event 2024

A few weeks ago we held our annual Winter Event at Stanford Campsite. It was a great evening of food, fire and fireworks for the group and guests. A massive thank you to all that came for making it such a special evening.

Beaver Sleepover 2024

Last weekend our Beaver Colony had their annual summer sleepover. Great fun was had by all of the Beavers who did a scavenger hunt, cooking, crafting and games over the weekend. A massive thank you to all of the leaders that made it happen!

Cub Camp 2024

Every Cub made it up the tree this weekend. What a great camp, a great group of young people and an amazing team that made it all possible. Thank you.

AGM 2024

Many thanks to everyone who contributed to a successful AGM this week and especially to our young people, the Beavers sang their hearts out in front of their biggest audience, the Cubs shared how they earned a very important badge and the Scouts showed creative skills, teamwork and IT skills making their own video.

At the Crawley District AGM last week, Chris/Chil received the Barry Jones Memorial trophy.

This trophy was awarded for the first time this year, in memory of Barry Jones who passed away last year, for an individual’s contribution to scouting.

Chris constantly gives so much to the district, and to the group. This award was given for the work she did across the district while we didn’t have a DC, and the growth work she has/and continues to help with – well done Chris/Chil, very well deserved!

Visit to Gravetye Estate

A wonderful, warm afternoon was had at the Gravetye Estate today. A group of Beavers & Cubs got to learn new skills using a variety of hand tools to do some coppicing. The wood will then be used to make a dead hedge. They were all extremely well behaved & were excellent at working in teams & sharing.

Crawley Town FC

Well done to Georgia representing 1st Southgate with other Cubs from around Crawley flag waving at the Crawley Town FC home game today. The cubs were praised for their politeness and behaviour.

Family Winter Event 2023

Thank you to everyone from 1st Southgate, 7th Crawley, 1st Langley Green and 2nd Crawley that came along to the 1st Southgate Winter Event last week! We hope you had a great time eating, singing around the fire and watching the fireworks. A massive thank you to the leaders that made this event possible and a big well done to Lowen who was presented with his Chief Scout Bronze award around the campfire!
