Group Camp 2022 26th September 2022 (updated 29th September 2022) | By Oliver Gidman | 0 Comments Group Camp is over for another year! We hope everyone had a great time last weekend – thank you all for being so good all weekend! We got lots of badge work done, played with friends, had a campfire, did some singing among lots of other things! Big thank you to our leadership team who have worked so hard to make this camp happen, both planning and over the weekend! If you’re interested in getting involved as a leader, feel free to come and talk to one of us! Camps are great fun!
1st Southgate and SRF to KIJ! 12th August 2022 | By Oliver Gidman | 2 Comments Last week, our Scouts, along with 7th Crawley Scouts, and SRF all spent the week at Kent International Jamboree. Scouts camped on Neptune sub-camp and SRF on Jupiter. Along with thousands of Scouts and Guides from around the country and abroad they had a great week taking part in over 100 different activities! In addition to these activities they had a day trip, access to a village of shops, food stalls and an arcade as well as evening entertainment including live music and a fire show! A great time was had by all who attended!
Queens Jubilee Event – What a day! 5th June 2022 | By Oliver Gidman | One Comment Crawley District Scouts celebrated the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee yesterday at Stanford. Such an amazing day. The time and effort put into this was paid back ten fold by the young people safely having so much fun. The whole of 1st Southgate and SRF are very proud to have been part of making so many great memories.

Members and families enjoyed use of the whole site, playing games and having a picnic in the sun.

Thank you for coming! 12th November 2021 (updated 12th November 2021) | By Oliver Gidman | One Comment Thank you to everyone that came to our annual Winter Event at Stanfords, we had games, food, fire and fireworks. We really hope that everyone had a great time because we certainly did! These events are a massive team effort so thank you to everyone that made it possible. A special mention to those leaders who were presented with training and long service awards by our District Commissioner, you are what make Scouting great! Furthermore, an even bigger well done to Kerry Waudby for her merit award, it was very well deserved!

1st Southgate has returned! 30th April 2021 | By Oliver Gidman | 0 Comments Since the Easter school holidays, all three of our sections have now returned to face to face scouting. We have seen nearly everyone again and its been great to see everyone full size, instead of a small box on a screen! We all really hope you have enjoyed the first few activities back, including the Scouts who spent their first evening lighting fires! A huge amount of work has gone into making the return safe and fun, the Leaders have been brilliant. Parents, thank you for all you have done to stick with us during the last 12 months. Let’s hope this is the start of the new normal for us all to enjoy.
